Jillian & Kyle: Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort & Spa

I can’t believe the temperature has dropped below 80 degrees! While I love being able to break out my sweaters and boots – and indulge in pumpkin spice everything – it’s quite clear that summer is long gone, and I have to admit that I’m a little sad to see it go.

It was an amazing couple of months for us at absolute. Not only were we in the throws of planning MY wedding (so much more on that coming soon), we also got to travel to some of the most sought after destinations in the country for our summer wedding couples.

This one…It’s an absolute must share.

Everything about this location was perfect for the wedding of this fun, outdoorsy couple! Both Jillian and Kyle are adventurous, and they love to ski, so it was so fitting that they chose to get married in Beaver Creek, one of the world’s most exclusive ski village areas. Just as Beaver Creek is ideal for skiing in the winter, it’s equally as ideal for a wedding in the summer. It was lush and green and beautiful; and it was cozy and comfortable with all the wedding guests together under the same roof for a weekend full of activities. There was golfing, white water rafting, zip-lining, hiking and even ice skating – yes, I said ice skating – all enjoyed in beautiful weather of clear blue skies. For me personally, it was such a breath of fresh air (pun very much intended) to escape the South Florida heat and humidity for a few days. And even though there was no lack of opportunities for fun in the great outdoors, the amenities inside the hotel were equally as enticing. The spa? One word: heavenly.

There were so many absolute standouts from this wedding. It was so personal and special. You could feel the love — the love they have for each other, for their family and friends, and especially the love they have for their beloved pooch, Hudson or “Huddy”, who was part of every aspect of the weekend. Their life revolves around this golden retriever, so obviously he took on a very central role throughout the weekend. And while we’ve done plenty of weddings that feature pets, this was an absolute first for us: Jillian and Kyle had the lyrics of their first dance song changed to include Hudson’s name.

As you know, at absolute we OBSESS over details and love a wedding that is personal and unique to the couple and their story. One of my absolute favorite aspects of this wedding was the table numbers of their sweetheart table – 32A and 32B, representative of their seat numbers on the US Airlines flight where they met. He spotted her in the airport and thought she was cute, and then – as fate would have it – she ended up sitting next to him on the flight. After chatting it up throughout the duration of their flight, they exchanged numbers and the rest, as they say, was history. I know, such a good, “how they met” story, right?!

Another absolute standout for me was when the groom, who also happens to be a very skilled drummer, joined the band on the drums and absolutely KILLED IT!

Enjoy some of my other favorite photos from this wedding. Credit to the immensely talented Autumn Burke for these gorgeous photos.
