absolute wedding: ashley & anuj at the fox theater atlanta

After returning home from doing a wedding in Beaver Creek, CO (see previous blog post for pics and details), we re-packed our bags for another absolute summer destination wedding. Next up for us was the wedding of Ashley and Anuj, in one of my all time favorite places – dating back to my sleepaway camp days – Atlanta.

I know I probably say this about all of our weddings (and I own it because they are all our “babies”), but this one was truly special. Ashley is one of my oldest childhood friends. And given that my entire career (well actually, my entire life) is based on forming relationships, already having that established connection, and foundation of mutual trust and love, makes everything even easier and more enjoyable during the most memorable time of your life. That alone would have made this wedding extra unforgettable, but there is so much more that makes this wedding a stand out. The groom, Anuj, is as cool and down to earth as it gets. He’s truly Ashley’s rock, and they have such a fun and adventurous relationship. They don’t just love to – they live to travel, they enjoy and appreciate nature, and their lives revolve around music.

Now let’s discuss the venue. The world-renown and iconic Fox Theater was the perfect place for these two to tie the knot. It has such unique character, and such a rich and interesting history. Over the years, Fox Theater has welcomed musical legends to its stage, and today it remains one of the world’s premier concert and event venues.  In fact, Chris Rock “shared a stage” with Ashley and Anuj the night of their wedding!

Just like the Fox Theater is the perfect blend of old and new, so were the wedding celebrations of Ashley and Anuj. They previously had a traditional Indian wedding, but wanted another celebration that was more aligned with their shared hobbies and interests. And since music is as important to them as the air they breathe, the wedding weekend included a music festival in Piedmont Park, as well as other activities that showcased the best of what Atlanta has to offer.

I absolutely love the opportunity to plan weddings outside of Florida. It’s so exciting to emerge myself in a new wedding market where I get a new fresh perspective, tons of inspiration, and (perhaps the best part of all) new vendor friends. Big shout out and THANK YOU to my new Atlanta network:
